Spring unfolds and Easter approaches, bringing with it the promise of renewal and joy. This year, as the mission area church floristry course comes to an end, let’s celebrate its success in a truly breathtaking way with the Redditch Mission Area’s Easter Flower Festival, a vibrant showcase of faith, creativity and community outreach.
It would be wonderful for all 12 churches to be represented in the festival. Everyone who has been taking part in the floristry course will be taking part. All interpretations of the Easter theme are welcome, from traditional unscented cala lilies symbolizing resurrection to playful displays celebrating spring’s bounty. Let imaginations flourish and faith bloom anew in vibrant colours and beauty!
Here are some details to inspire you:
- Theme: We leave the Easter theme open to creativity and individual expression. Reflect on the Easter message and spring’s renewal.
- Categories: To cater to diverse talents, we offer categories for individual displays, family creations and children’s arrangements. Let everyone blossom.
- Entry Deadline: Submit your intention to take part by 10th February. NB: Floral entries need to be delivered to St Stephen’s on Saturday 30th March by 12pm to allow us time to prepare for the festival’s stunning launch.
- Display Dates: The Revitalising Redditch Easter Flower Festival will bloom from Easter Sunday 31st March 2024, for one glorious week. Opening hours are:
- Easter Sunday and Holiday Monday: 11 am to 2 pm
- Tuesday to Saturday: 10 am to 2 pm.
But the beauty of the festival extends beyond the blooms. We also seek dedicated volunteer Stewards to welcome visitors, answer questions, have missional conversations and pray with folk. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with parishioners and visitors, offering warmth, faith conversations, and quiet prayerful support.
If you have a welcoming smile, conversational skills and a prayerful and compassionate heart, please spend an hour of your time as part of the Stewarding team. Your presence will truly enhance the festival’s spirit of faith, community and reflection.
For further information about entering arrangements or volunteering as Stewards, please contact Elaine Whitfield by email on [email protected] or telephone 07836 644445.
Together, let’s make this Easter Flower Festival a vibrant tapestry of faith, creativity and shared joy.
