The Building

St. Philip’s is a Victorian building, built in the nineteenth century as a daughter church of St. Bartholomew’s, Tardebigge. We have just finished a major building project to add an annex to the church to provide toilets, kitchen, office and meeting space – there is more information on this on our Community Centre page.

We have already taken steps to redevelop the existing building, with changes which involved renewing the heating system and replacing all the pews with chairs. Since the refurbishment has taken place, we have been able to increase the diversity of our worship and fellowship, including moving to a more flexible style of service for Baptisms. We are also able to hold other events such as our annual Advent Fair, concerts and meetings more conveniently.

We have recently extended the building, by adding an annexe onto our building. This allows the provision of toilets, a coffee bar, a meeting room and storage space.  This will provide us with a flexible venue for Church and community events which would otherwise need to be held elsewhere. This will enhance the life of the Church and enable us to more effectively reach out into the community.
